This one-of-a-kind kimono obi guitar strap has already found its new home.
Each Obi Guitar Factory strap is made from a unique piece of Japanese kimono obi fabric, so the exact same design will not be made again.
Chrysanthemums mean longevity in Japan. Nobility, too. Weavers have been stitching them into obi for centuries—not to show off, but because the flower demands respect. This one landed on your strap. The fabric comes from a small Hiroshima workshop where obi artisans still work by hand. Each piece tells where it's been: weddings, ceremonies, quiet moments. You're not buying new—you're inheriting a story someone else started. We cut and finish it here in Hiroshima, sew it onto hardware that won't fail, and ship it to you as KIKU-01A. A one-time thing. Someone else will wear a chrysanthemum strap someday, but not this one. Ships worldwide. One made. Never repeated.
Kiku — chrysanthemum — is the imperial flower of Japan, a symbol of longevity, dignity, and noble character. We sourced this obi second-hand; its full history is unknown to us. What we can tell from the silk: it was woven with care, worn with care, and folded away with care. Now it travels.

Behind the build
The textile gets the attention. The feel is what earns repeat use.
Obi Guitar Factory is not trying to make decorative straps that look interesting for one photo and disappear after that. The strap still needs to sit flat, feel stable, and hold up through real playing.
That balance between visual force and practical comfort is the whole point of the build, and it starts in Hiroshima with one bench and one pair of hands.
